Peanut Butter-Cocoa Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Heaet oven to 350 degrees F. Grease cookie sheets.
  2. Cream shortening and peanut butter; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add egg, beating well.
  3. Combine dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture, beating well.
  4. Shape dough into 1 inch balls; place 2 inches apart on prepared cookie sheets. Flatten cookies with a fork to 1/4-inch thickness in a crisscross pattern.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes.
