Fritter Batter


  • 1 egg, separated
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup water or milk
  • 1/2 cup flour


  1. Beat egg yolk; add the butter and salt and half the liquid, then stir in the flour to make a smooth dough.
  2. Add the remainder of liquid gradually to make a batter, and fold in the stiffly beaten egg white.
