Slam Pastid (Easter Pastid or Calzone)

Ingredients

Filling

  • 1 1/2 sticks pepperoni, cut into pieces
  • 1 pound ham capicola, cut into pieces
  • 1/2 pound pastina, cooked
  • 2 cartons basket-cheese
  • 2 cups Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated cheese
  • 4 or 5 eggs

Dough

  • 4 to 5 eggs
  • 4 to 5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter
  • 1 cup lukewarm water
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

Filling

  1. Combine ingredients and set aside.

Dough

  1. Work together flour and butter. Add eggs and water. Knead dough until soft and pliable to roll. Divide into 7 portions. Roll each into 10 to 12 inch pie shape. Fill half of "pie" with mixed filling. Fold dough over to form "half-moon" shape and pinch edges.
  2. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 to 35 minutes on a greased cookie sheet.
