After this marriage of almost 47 years, and many good brisket recipes, I find this the best and the easiest. Everything is in the foil! No mess and wonderful!

Ingredients

  • 1 beef brisket
  • 1 bottle Heinz Chili Sauce
  • 1 envelope onion soup mix

Instructions

  1. Line baking or Pyrex dish with heavy duty foil. Lay brisket on foil. Cover with chili sauce and onion soup mix. Cover brisket tightly all around with the foil. This is important!
  2. Bake at 350 degrees F for 2 1/2 hours for 3 pounds, 3 hours for 4 pounds, etc.
  3. Bake day before, if possible. Let stand 1/2 hour before carving.
