- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup ground almonds
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 to 4 tablespoons ice cold water
- Mix flour, almonds, sugar and salt.
- Cut in shortening.
- Add egg and cold water.
- Wrap in plastic wrap and chill.
- Roll out. Place in a 9 inch pan. Prick sides and bottom.
- Bake conventionally or in a microwave on HIGH for 5 to 7 minutes.
- Cool before filling.
