Mother Goose Popcorn

  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Dash of salt
  • 2 to 3 drops food coloring


  1. Mix ingredients to soft ball stage (225 degrees F) on candy thermometer (234 degrees F at sea level).
  2. Pour over one batch of popcorn (about 8 to 10 cups); mix quickly and well.


If you overcook, it will have a more gritty sugar texture.
