Bread Pudding
Ingredients
- 2 cups milk, scalded
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 3 cups soft bread, torn into small pieces
- 1/2 cup raisins
Instructions
- Combine milk and butter, stirring until butter is melted.
- Cool to lukewarm.
- Combine eggs, sugar, salt and nutmeg; beat at medium speed of mixer for 1 minute.
- Slowly add milk mixture.
- Place bread in a lightly greased 1 1/2-quart casserole;
sprinkle with raisins and pour batter over all.
- Bake at 350 degrees F for 50 minutes
or until set.
- Serve warm with Lemon Sauce.
