Bread Pudding

Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk, scalded
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 3 cups soft bread, torn into small pieces
  • 1/2 cup raisins

Instructions

  1. Combine milk and butter, stirring until butter is melted.
  2. Cool to lukewarm.
  3. Combine eggs, sugar, salt and nutmeg; beat at medium speed of mixer for 1 minute.
  4. Slowly add milk mixture.
  5. Place bread in a lightly greased 1 1/2-quart casserole; sprinkle with raisins and pour batter over all.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees F for 50 minutes or until set.
  7. Serve warm with Lemon Sauce.
