Popped Wild Rice
- 2 to 3 tablespoons corn oil or vegetable oil
- 1 cup uncooked wild rice
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 2 tablespoons maple sugar or maple syrup
- Salt to taste
- Place oil in a 12-inch, heavy-bottomed skillet over medium heat.
- Add a layer of rice and swirl over medium heat until the kernels pop.
- Toss with butter, sugar and salt.
Makes about 2 cups.
