Popped Wild Rice

Yield: about 2 cups

Ingredients

  • 2 to 3 tablespoons corn oil or vegetable oil
  • 1 cup uncooked wild rice
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons maple sugar or maple syrup
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Place oil in a 12 inch, heavy-bottom skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add a layer of rice and swirl over medium heat until the kernels pop.
  3. Toss with butter, sugar and salt.
