Strawberry Sourdough Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups strawberries, sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 3/4 cup sourdough starter

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Butter and lightly flour an 8 1/2 x 4 1/2-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl lightly beat the eggs.
  3. Mix in the oil and sugar, and sourdough.
  4. Add the flour and baking soda. Stir until flour is just blended.
  5. Fold in the strawberries and walnuts. Do not over-blend or the bread may be tough.
  6. Pour the batter into pan and bake on center rack in oven for 1 hour and 20 minutes until an inserted wooden pick comes out clean.
  7. Turn out onto wire rack to cool.
  8. Cut and serve.
