Field Grade Spaghetti Sauce
delightful surprise ingredient in this sauce is cinnamon, and I guarantee that
it's absolutely delicious! In the military, the term "field grade" is for
Colonels and Generals, as in "He's a field grade officer." That's how this
recipe got its name...by being the cream of the crop! It's one of the many
recipes I've accumulated as a military wife for almost 30 years.
Gincart's Spaghetti Sauce — Adapted to my taste over many years of tweaking. The sauce is enough for 1 pound
pasta and you may have to adjust seasonings to your taste. This is a great meatless
sauce and on occasion I will add my own meatball recipe or Italian sausage when
the mood strikes. Enjoy!
Grandma Vinny's Sauce — This is from my Italian grandmother, Vincenza. Of course, she never wrote anything
down so my sister and I used to follow her around the kitchen when we were young.
Now I know some of you are thinking, "what! no garlic???" Vinny was from
Naples but she rarely used garlic and when she did she used it sparingly (she'd
put it on a wooden pick and fish it out later) but obviously you can use as much
garlic as you want.
